Screw the ER smalls ! Then swap them for 2 more DHS and there goes the heat problem.
Now you have a walking death incarnate, made even better.
This is just almost this close to perfect. |

Surprisingly this mech is very durable, will take a huge beating and usually live to tell the tale. At least it did in our game we were running. We had one of these and it was a absolute BEAST! The nastiest thing on 2 legs most of the time. In one game the pilot had 2 or 3 clean kills and assisted in 5 or 6 other mechs falling. Eventually lost a leg. But we won the field and repaired it. We will take thoes ratios everytime. |

This is a great mech, and it definently is a great second-line defensive mech. With three ER PPCs, this thing is a mean SOB at range, and its array of ER Small Lasers and Medium Pulsers will rip up those that get close. It dose get a five. Park it on a mountain, snipe out the advancing enemies, and watch them run for their lives. |

First of all this is a very inefficent chassis. 2nd of all with 3 Clan ER PPCs it doesn't matter.
Short of a front line assault OMNI nothing can take this kind of pounding and live to close.
Basically sit it on a hill top or in an open field and fire until your enemies are dead. Remembering every 4 or 5 rounds to not fire an ER PPC so you can cool down. |

One of the best Clan 2nd-liners ever! It looks cool (I really liked the way the original IICs went - really weird, alien machines that only had a common root with their parent designs) and is absolutely deadly! Sure, the armour is on the weak side, but Clan FF makes up for it somewhat (love the fact that they kept the identical tonnage of the original).
But that really doesn't matter, because it has the ultimate long-range weaponry: 3 ERPPCs. Ok, the Warhawk weighs the same and has 4. But the Marauder actually dissipates 2 more heat per turn, and as such can actually keep up a higher rate of fire!!
So, if anyone wants to kill this, their best bet lies in closing. Which is where its very interesting back-up weaponry comes into play: the two medium pulse lasers can pitch in at medium ranges, with great odds to hit. And at short range, this design can use its small lasers to inflict a whopping 20 damage!
This design was amongst the first Clan machines I ever used, and goodness, it was a revelation!!! It still carries one of my favourite weapon load-outs! |
