This mech looses its crit seeker but also its ammo. The ER PPC gives it the much needed range to be of use in an open field and the need for strict fire discipline.
If you´re willing to risk a shutdown there is no ammo any more so you are allowed to be undisciplined ;-) |

For what it is the Starslayer is a solid medium cavalry mech. It has better armor then some mediums and the ERPPC gives it the range to reach out and hit something. It is a bit heat prone, but a good pilot should have no trouble managing it. Its best feature is that it lacks an XL engine thus making that armor even more potent. If logistics and price are an issue the Starslayer is by far one of the best buys at its cost of any medium mech on the market in this era. |

This mech is superior to the 3C model because it has the ranged weapons. Trading a Large Laser and an SRM 4 for an ER PPC is a good deal in my mind because it gives you the ranged firepower to actually fight other mechs.
That being said its passable as a raider now, but still sets more use as a guard or city fighting unit.
Watch your heat and maybe don't fire the ER PPC when your close enough to use other weapons. Changing down to a standard PPC is a bad idea in my mind, but maybe changing one of the mediums up to ER would be more useful.
Either way a superior mech in a lot of ways. |

I like this 'mech. It carries no ammunition, so you can afford the extra heat burden, and if you start running too hot the jump jets will keep you mobile and alive, while the weapons dish out a pounding. |

The heat is much to high, however with controlled fire it will make an excellent striker mech, exchanging the ERPPC to a PPC would make it a cheap, garrison mech. |
