Overview:
The Trebuchet has walked the line between trooper and fire support mech since it's
beginning. With over a thousand still in service across the Sphere and Periphery, many of
them do not match any of the specifications set by Corean at the factory. The "Trenchbucket"
known as "Lunchbait" and piloted by Magay Calupitan is an excellent example of this.

Produced in the last few years of the Aramis Civil War and piloted by a "volunteer" from
House Marik, it returned to FWL service after the Usurper was defeated. According to it's
logs, at that time it was known as "Lil Timmy's Deathbox". The machine was captured as
salvage by Lyran troops, who transferred it to mercenaries as payment. It was rebranded as
"Lil Yuri's Lunchbox". It would then go to the Draconis Combine, and was seized by the
Combine (with its company mates) after the mercenaries were found in violation of their
contract and terminated. Dragooned into service by the Dragon. Between the Second and Third
Succession Wars, it's maintenance logs were incompletely maintained. it was then lost in a
raid in Davion space and salvaged. There the records were more completely kept, with it's
    name changed to
"Lunchbait". Little Timmy and Yuri had been vaporized, and the machine had been rebuilt many
times, with only cockpit, about half the inner structure, and the right arm still the
    original parts.

As it was rebuilt, a number of changes were made. The engine was destroyed, and replaced
with a slower 200-class engine and the requisite gyro (ironically, they are stamped with the
Corean logo, presumably salvaged from a Centurion). When the engine was lost, the legs were
lost as well, and were rebuilt with the addition of Anderson 30 jump jets from a Vindicator,
which makes up for the lower speed. The left arm was rebuilt with an LRM-10. It is unclear
if it was choice made to save weight, increase the number of flights of missiles, or just a
matter of what was available. Either way, the lighter weight rack reduced wear and tear over
time on the right arm. The torso mounted LRM rack was replaced with a pair of SRM-6 racks.
This is an interesting choice, as it allows Lunchbait to throw a punch with a dozen short
range missiles being fired from only a few meters away from the target during the brawl. The
left torso is fitted with a machine gun salvaged from a Bulldog tank, with a half ton of
ammunition. This addition grants a limited but useful anti-infantry capability. An
additional ton of armour and four more heatsinks further improve the survivability of the
machine, even if a single ton of SRMs has only limited endurance. Base on the serial numbers
on the major bones of the chassis, Lunchbait has parts from at least three other Trebuchets
    in it.

These modifications have moved Lunchbait from a fire support machine that is fast for its
weight to a more mutlirole trooper. A bit more radical than many machines covered by This
Old Mech, Lunchbait has proven itself to be a capable machine, but one that is unremarkable
    other than for it's story.
