If used right this will give an enemy a real bad day but only in greater settings.
A lance of this supporting an assault of heavier mechs will give you cheap and heavy firesupport. But if you aren´t able to stay behind the front or some fast mechs can outflank your linemechs you´ll have a big problem.
The single huge weapon is a boon and a curse to this mech: It will give you a real hard punch at an extreme range but on the other side a single hit can make you weaponless as can an empty ammo-bin.
The rest is more like a simple moving platform for the gauss with only little speed and armor! |

If used correctly, as in the Hollander can get the first few opening shots in, it can be quite effective, especially as part of a company.
However, once fast mechs flank this, he is good as dead. The armor is thin and a single hit to the Gauss can outright tear this mech apart. |

These will do some damage at first, but once the enemy realizes how easy it will be to silence the Gauss slugs this is hurling at him, the Hollander is dead. |

Steiners idea of a quick response mech... Its far faster than their 3/5 assault lances. With the Guass rifle that just kills things quickly.
Problem is that a light mech is going to run those modifiers up high enough that you'll just waste all your Gauss ammo as you die.
Its not worth taking, unless your desperate. |
