The fastest of the Lights. You better be able to use it all or you will die. Best not to have a shot then take one but not have at least a +3 move modifier. In both duels and lance it has never been stellar, usually performs a little below average. The slight armor is a serious flaw.
GM- Used rarely and usually in a true recon role. PCs have bagged their share with a good PPC or LRM 15 shot. |

This mech earns some extra points for being one of the fastest mechs in succession wars era. The armor isn't too thick, but I think that it should be enough to keep it safe for a while. It's speed is the best protection after all. The armament is great with two medium lasers that can deal with many mechs of this size and flamer that may be used to burn something quickly. Definitely this machine is not the one you want to slip past your defenses, because catching it before it gets to your field base may be a problem. |

FAST! One of the fastest in the game, with usable weapons load, and decently balanced. I personally dislike the flamer, and don't recall the need for it on this mech. My take would have been another ton of armor instead, the 2 ML are more than enough in this era to be a serious threat to anything lighter than it, and even a few heavier. |

A very fast scout with acceptable firepower and rather thin armor.
For firestarting, scouting and occasional backbiting this one will please you but don´t try to slug it out even against other lights (or be carefull and prepare to run). |

Speed is life for the Hermes, keep moving and firing. I disagree about ditching the flamer though, with the armor soooo thin, even infantry can wreak grevious harm.
Dropping it to 8/12 will make it still reasonably fast and you can go for another layer of armor. |
