Fast, well armored and with strong LRM-firepower but really too few missiles on bord and totally inadequate secondary weaponry. I would keep the LRM-20´s but would remove the AMS and SRM to double the LRM ammo, put in two medium lasers and half a ton of armor. As a Star League aera design it would have to be built with ES. |

This is no fire support 'Mech and it shouldn't be used in this role. It lacks the ammo to deal with longer engagements and it won't ever be able to work in this role efficiently. If you want it to fire special ammo then you'll probably have a J27 parked right next to it. In combat it will probably do better if you quickly run toward the enemy relying on AMS and armour to get there, expending all ammo on single target while standing still and retreating as soon as the LRMs are gone. It may cripple an enemy this way and leave in relatively good condition, but I wouldn't try to use it without a good supply of ammo anywhere nearby. Not THAT bad, but still not impressive. |

I agree with most of the previous reviews, and I think bladewind has the best idea on an alternative layout. LRM-20's are very inefficient on a mech of this weight, paired 15's will work much better and generate less heat, allowing for a better overall weapons load. |

Drop the LRM-20s for LRM-15s and Artemis IVs. This will allow you to carry another ton of reloads, 1 more ton of ams ammo and 3 medium lasers and another 0.5 ton of armor.
Now, you have a fairly quick moving fire support mech, sure sounds alot better to me than this junk. |

I'll explain the rating in decent detail hopefully. Okay for less money you can have a more efficent missile design called the Trebuchet, and it'll last longer on the field as well and is better equiped to fight once it runs out of money.
The Bombardier always has struck me as a show piece unit, good for intimidation street thug type units. No good in the long haul as its an expensive ammo hog with lousy placement of its ammo.
The armour is its one strong point which is good because it'll let it retire off the field in the opening minute quickly and never get caught.
The SRM 4 is a decent backup weapon on a missile support unit. They're is a Archer that makes good use of them. But as your ONLY back up weapon its no good. 3 Medium lasers ala the Catapult is a better way to spend your last 3 tons of a missile support mech.
So those are my reason for the low rating. Its basically an over priced useless over armoured junk heap. |
