One of the first few command mechs to mount the C3. Although limb armor is somewhat low, it is a good mech for experience pilots, especially commanders. Use your inherent speed and slot into heavy companies for good results. |

To mount the c3 master its longrange firepower is somewhat reduced but also the amount of ammo carried by the mech. A good idea is the increased armor protection.
Still it has some flaws like not mounting CASE or both lasers put in one arm.
The overall firepower is somewhat weak but the gauss is a very dangerous and respected weapon at all ranges! |

This mech is one of the few CANNON mechs that makes its way into my forces consistantly when I use C3 nets.
Because its a fast assault with standard engine and its got enough armour to last in the heavy mech companies it gets slotted into commanding. In close its not great, but it can be dangerous against smaller targets.
This isn't an assault mech you use aganist other assault mechs. For that duty you need other things. Remember, treat it like a heavy mech and you'll pass every test with flying colours. |

Hey, if youre going to have a command mech, it might as well be a Cyclops, right?
The addition of the C3 master means that it can coordinate for a lance, and provide some fire support from the gauss rifle, but the mech lacks anything to support it in that role. Otherwise, this is a nice close up fighter, with the SRMs backing up the medium lasers.
I wish that they had used FF armor, then they could have used -less- armor for the same protection, and freed up a little space for an LRM rack. |

This variant drops the LRM10 and it's ammo in favor of a C3 Command computer and some extra armor on the limbs. Both are very welcome, esspecially in a 3050 setting where C3 Master units are rare.
Defensively, the C3M is in a good spot. Swift assault, decent armor, decent firepower. Barring ECM, you can expect to keep that C3M attached to a functioning and mobile power supply for some time.
Offensively people will learn to hate that GR real fast if you keep a C3 slave unit close to the enemy.
And if they're not packing ECM, they'll have a lot more to worry about than 2 MLs and a SRM4 when they close.
In campaigns CP-11-C's can be your preferred C3M carrier. Just keep well stocked and have some bodyguards around in case the 11C's unit crumbles, and you're good to go.
Variants would either double up on the C3M computers by dropping the SRM4 and 2 Heatsinks to allow it to be a C3 Company node. Or it could drop the 2 MLs, SRM4 and 2 heatsinks in favor of an LRM rack to back that GR up at range. |
