Two tons of MG ammo? Only 8 shots for the gauss? 17 heatsinks? Ok, who had to be bribed that that ....mech(?) made it onto the field? The XL is totaly wasted as the same weaponry can be put in with a standard engine. Take a -1H, put in ES, rip out half a ton of MG-ammo and 7 heatsinks and then you can swap the PPC for a gauss with 16 shots, add two CASE and half a ton of armor. Result: Same weapons, same armor, same speed, no dangerous XL and a gauss that can last for half the price. If you have problems with that one point of heat that can be build up just change to DHS. |

Oh gods why? Something's telling me, that the same guy who designed the Summoner A had his hands in this. Main weapons can last for 12 rounds at bestand then you have whopping two machine guns and so much ammo that you can make yourself a tomb out of it. It's almost like someone at the last moment decided to replace an ER PPC with a Gauss gun and didn't really touch anything else. Sure it can take a few hits and it can move relatively quick for it's size, but aside from that you get such an overpriced piece of scrap. Avoid if possible. |

I've never been a big fan of the Goliath to begin with. But this particular version just makes me sick. A Gauss rifle ALWAYS needs at least 2 tons of ammo to be effective. Unless its on a fast medium sniper... but thats a different story entirely :D Also the MGs... wth was the designer thinking? "Well this fits here, so lets slap it in. Who cares if its combat effective or not!" |

Killing all those MGs and the ultimately plenty of those extra heatsinks will go a long way.
After that its more ammo for the gauss and maybe some more armor and some REAL backup weapons. |

Okay, check list time. Over heat sinked. Under Ammoed. LRM 10s for primary weapon essentially. In close you rely on two machine guns.
The guass rifle is the best point and its an 8 shot wonder.
Did I mention for this price you can pick up a lance of fully mission capable heavy battlemechs from 3025.... |
