This upgrade gives the WHM tremendous, long-ranged firepower without min range and it has the heat sinks to use it. But on the other side nothing was changed about its weak armor and it has the odd combination of an AMS with 12 shots and a MG with those full ton of ammo. Scrap both for 3 tons of armor or give it an AMS with 24 shots and 10.5 tons of FF armor (it will fit in down to the last crit). You are able to remove one or two heat sinks too so it has much potential to be further modified. |

A stright and sensible upgrade of the venerable beatstick. Not many of these are around. It can absorb some punishment and give almost as good as it gets. New heatsinks and PPCs can actually keep firing till damage puts them out. Only serious flaw on the design is inclusion of single machine gun along with full ton of ammo. That is a timed bomb and nothing can be done to prevent it from exploding short of winning the battle before the time runs up. Aside from that this is a rare example of common sense used in 3050 TRO. Rating also goes up thanks to AMS rules revision. |

It's odd that the 7M is the default post-3050 Warhammer, since according the fluff Ronin Inc. only turns out five of these a year. Well, I guess Battletech never had the best proofreaders.
The advantage to this design is that older 3025-vintage Warhammers could easily be converted to this model, as the engine, armor, and internal structure are unchanged from the 6R model.
The biggest holes here are lack of CASE and ammo placement. Unfortunately, Inner Sphere AMS really are not worth their weight, so this would probably be the first system to go. The MG does provide a useful anti-personnel capacity, although the SRM-6 could do this job as well. |

Very nice mech. The design of this and the Marauder are part of what attracted me to BT, then having them be butt kickers in play sealed the deal. This needs to (as noted by others...) drop the MG & Ammo for more AMS ammo because it attracts swarms of LRM fire. |
