A dedicated cityfighter that is hard to take down like the other upgraded T-Bolts. Three of the few 3050 uprades for that somebody had switched on his brain. The large pulse laser is very useful on a unit that jumps alot in a city. But even if you do an alphastrike after a full jump it is oversinked. Better to remove a heatsink to get an artemis or something. |

So, the Eridani Light Horses upgraded their Jumpingbolt? Well, I'm not sure if they managed to do a good job with this one. Sure, it's tough, but in 3050 it seriously lacks firepower to deal with anything outside of it's medium laser range. While the pulse laser is a nice weapon for something that intends to jump a lot it isn't strong enough to threaten anything above 50 tons on it's own. The LRMs are just an annoyance, but hardly a good long range weapon for a 'Mech of this size, although they can deal with tanks. If you are going to field this in urban battles then you should keep an eye on enemy infantry, because, unlike the other TDR variants, the 9SE lacks dedicated weapons to deal with the rats scurrying (and planting explosives) under it's feet. By far the weakest of the 3050 Thunderbolts. Over-sinked and under-gunned. |

In cities, this mech would have being very effective, but I also feel that it has lost its TDR touch.
The mech has alot of DHS though and you can remove a few for other goodies. Its not like you are going to be firing LRMs off after every round. |

I've always been kinda... well lost with this TDR. It strays so much from the original concept. Still, it works well in cities and steep terrain. |

Pairs up real well in garrison units that use Urbanmechs/Panthers/Hunchbacks to guard cities. Its not a great machine but the heavy armour and 120 meter jump will solve lots of city issues. Its lack of machine guns is not much of an issue becuase city fights are usually supported by your own infantry.
I view this mech as a useful trainer. but not somethign you'd see a real mechwarrior in as he'd want a slot in a better machine/model.
