The ACs were apparently used for their range. Trying to use the ultra mode is clearly a choice for desperate situations here. DHSs are also pretty nice addition to the design, so why do I think that it isn't a good machine? Well the armour wrapped around the engine is too thin and there isn't enough ammo to kill the opponent. It's too fragile for medium range fighting and I think that FWL should have installed ER lasers to allow the pilot to stay away. |

In most aspects this upgrade isn´t bad: now it has enough heatsinks to use its weapons and its armor is (somewhat) increased.
But the UAC´s have a much too small ammo bin and all that is only made possible by an expensive and still lightly armored XL! |

Bad.
On full auto, those UACs have 5 burst.. that's it. After that you're down to a pair of LLs on a mech with cardboard armour. Not very encouraging. I'll take the original rifleman over this. I'll be wasting less money. |

I don't mind getting stuck with this one in random rolled units, but first chance I get if using any kind of salvage rules is rebuild the skeleton with Endo and swapping at least 1 of the UACs for an LBX. Still this isn't horrible because by the time you're outta ammo for the UACs you're armor is going to be pretty tattered too, so its gonna be time to retreat anyways. |

A great step backward in the field of the Rifleman.
At full rate of fire your two Autocannons will be out of ammo in 5 rounds. Which leaves you with 18 tons of dead weight. Would have been better staying standards and adding 2 more tons of ammo or going LB-X for increased accuracy with its limited ammo bay.
A vanilla upgrade gone wrong. |
