This is what the Dragon needed for 3050. It keeps the speed and range advantage the 1N (and 1G) had in 3025, it has good armour (FF would be welcome) and it can keep fighting long after the enemy runs out of ammo while trying to catch this fleet footed machine. I don't mind having the XL engine here, because the speed can protect you and the armour can withstand more than a few glancing hits. I wouldn't consider moving the lasers forward, because this would encourage the pilot to close on the enemy. If I would change something then I would remove one of the rear facing lasers to upgrade the LA ML to pulse weapon against anything that can run the DRG-5K down and add one ton of ammo instead of one of the DHSs. |

An even faster and hard-hitting GrandDragon! The XL makes sure that the speed-advantage of the original is saved for the 3050+ aera but still the armor is somewhat light.
On the other side you have enough heatsinks to make an alphastrike at max speed. You even can rip out a heatsink to boost that armor.
An ES would have been amazing! |

More armour would be nice, but the grand dragon is really designed to hit and fade. It's fast, it's weapons are suited for ranged work. It's a little too heat efficient but it can alpha strike without any problems.
Just don't use it in a brawl. |

The armor should be buffed up more. If u are willing to invest a mech with an XL engine, Endo-steel construction should not be too hard to obtain in the first place.
For a heavy this fast, all the weapons can be flipped forward with little worries and thus giving u a much greater punch. |

Better than the normal Dragons by quite a bit... except one thing. The XL Engine... why?
I'd use Endo over FF armor and just use the extra tons for standard armor (normally nets you better armor on heavier designs than using FF does)
I'd move the LA ML to the CT facing backwards and swap the 2 side torso MLs forwards... IF I kept a rear arc weapon at all.
The speed on this heavy DOES keep up with some of the slower lights and mediums, which is a nice benefit, but as I already said the XL is bad here w/out beefing the armor by using Endo to gain tonnage or FF to gain points. |
