As a 2750 'Mech it isn't bad, but don't engage anything that you can't catch. I agree with those who call for the ER lasers and DHSs, but this has it's use as well. Keep in mind that it lacks heavy guns, but it's lasers are still something that can't be easily ignored. It can absorb a lot of damage, but you still pilot a medium machine. Don't try to be a hero too often. With recent rules upgrade it would use an SPL, or perhaps a flamer to deal with the squishies ; ) |

Remember that this is an old Star League design!
In its timeframe it will be a fine medium mech with good firepower and armor.
It has no ammo to worry about too.
A tough line mech. |

Still a good design if you pit it against raiders and the like. The basic hardiness of the machine will see it through most of the rough and tumble.
But, avoid fighting Clans or any other top tier IS regiment units. They will outrange this fella over and over again.

One of the best medium 'mechs out there. Those paired Large Lasers will carve most other medium 'mechs to pieces in a few short rounds. I've used the Crab for years, and it usually walks off the field in one piece with at least one kill under it's belt. My only gripes are the small laser and it's vulnerability to infantry. |

Not an impressive upgrade. Go with something else or throw in Doubles and upgrade your weapons suite to ER.
As it stands only the armour is really impressive as an upgrade, and thats not going to get you by in most fights.
Either complete the upgrade to 3050 stuff or ignore this particular upgrade. |
