This HCT is upgraded in many ways but got two flaws the original hadn´t.
Sure: Near full armor, CASE, some more accurate shortrange firepower and a longer range of the main weapon is nice but now it has a fragile XL , serious heatproblems and a very limited ammo-load that prevents it from using cluster and slug in the same fight.

The XL engine is misplaced on this design. Especially if you look at what was the free tonnage used for... pulse lasers. Not that they are bad, but still the 'Mech gained a huge glass jaw for their addition and that is a problem with a 'Mech that must go through close range confrontation to kill the enemy. I wouldn't mind the downgrade to standard weapons for standard reactor. FF armor and LB gun on the other hand are useful additions to 'Mech's arsenal, but as it was already stated there is not enough ammo to use the AC's full potential, not to mention that you'll probably save the shells for short range fight so the expanded range is also eliminated. I wouldn't mind removal of the RA laser for additional ammo. There is a lot of wasted potential, like on many 3050 botches... |

This Hatchetman is much better than the original mech, which sucked to no end. It is good for city fights with that hatchet and LB-10X. THe three pulsers back up the autocannon nicely, but the Hatchetman still suffers lack of speed. Keep it in the city and heavy woods. |

I like this remake of the original, and i use it a lot in city fights along with the Urbie trascans.Aside from that, this a mediocre design. |
