Ok it is an improvement to the old -R60 but it has lots of unused potentia.
Still it has 11 HS (this ton can be used to much better effect) and now it has a small laser/ small pulse laser combination.
That are 2.5 tons that could be used for a CASE and a medium pulse laser or two standard mediums.
Or you can double the ammo to be able to switch between cluster and slug.
Ort wo small pulse lasers for anti-infantrie work. |

The small pulse laser finally gained some use with the new rules and a gun with better range and accuracy is always good. The problem starts when you look on ammo load. 10 shots is not much, especially when you can't expect to be able to run for reloads. I'm not sure what is the small laser good for since the pulse weapon can take it's place and the ability to turn it backward would greatly enhance the ability to destroy sneaky infantry. Otherwise the armor is still strong and one additional heat sink is useless. If I may suggest changes than move SPL to arm, replace SL with CASE and add one ton of ammo instead of the eleventh heat sink. Well, the inefficiency is a part of 3050 manual and as a super cheap city defense the Urbie is still deadly if you use it in swarms.
Don't even think about moving outside cities or heavy forests. And by this I mean maps, not just hexes. |

when used in cities this mech is pretty good. the lbx could use more ammo but other than that keep this mech in the city. anywhere else and u're dead |

The toughest and arguably one of the cheapest light mechs to ever be used as a city defender. The thrashcan has charm.
This upgrade is marvellous for him although i do question that extra heatsink. The removal of that extra heatsink can really open up more options.
With another free ton, this baby can use another half ton of armor and scrap the small laser for a medium, use the extra ton for ammo or even a medium laser. Decisions, decisions, decisions.
Like others have said, never ever underestimate this mech. It is deadly in its intended role and Liao can fill entire city garrisons at will without feeling too much pain in the pockets.
Liao might not have the most cash during the 3025 - 3050 era but they sure have tough as nails mech designs that excel in their intended roles.
The excellent Vindy, Urbie and Po are all testimonies of this. |

A very nice upgrade to the R60. Personally, I'd swap heat sink number 11 for another ton of ammo for the LBX so I could have a ton each of cluster and shell, that way it doesn't need any lancemate to be a dedicated crit-seeker. That, and the HS is pretty worthless anyways... |
