I can't figure out what the designer was trying to do here. Baby shotguns and basically no backup weapons? Also VERY ammo dependent. |

I don't understand the Man O' War; it has less armor and less pod space than the Mad Cat, yet cost more. Why would anyone (much less Clan Wolf) produce these if they had the capacity to make Mad Cats? Assault mechs should never move at 5/8- it's too inefficient. And what is the advantage of a bigger mech? More internal structure? More damage in physical combat? One more integral heat sink that it doesn't use?
So this is already a sub-par platform, but this weapons load out is ridiculous. The maximum damage is 39 points- pretty weak for an assault. But- the mech has to close to 6 hexes to even do that, and average damage (assuming everything hits and the AC's are using cluster) is a paltry 27- about half a point of elementals. Critical hits are hard to score against an undamaged unit- you'll be rolling dice all day trying to get enough lucky head hits to down a mech.
I have never seen this mech win a battle. Ever. |

The Prime suffers poorly due to all its integral DHS and its low heat output weapons. But it should be noted that the later variants mount alot more energy weapons and the Garg can use it.
The Prime is absolutely ammo dependent and u will need to keep an ammo truck handy. Useful for busting up infantry plus mechs of light and medium weight but not much else.
The armor isnt much to scream about either, unfortunalately. Endo-Steel would have freed up another 4 tons on this mech and it would perform better.. |

The weapons load looks impressive, but I would rather use assault mechs for actual assaults, rather than kicking around light and medium mechs.
Going with cluster rounds for the LBX would make this a pretty good anti-infantry mech, battle armored or otherwise.
The SRMs are standard variety, not Streaks, which is somewhat rare for clan mechs.
Probably not the first choice for assault stars, but good for mop-up or city fights. Just keep the ammo trucks near by, or this thing is going to be 80 tons of Clan "Kick Me" sign. |

Take the Prime Man O' War strickly to repod it. Its useless in its Prime Variant unless you want to hunt IS medium mechs. Which isn't much on the honour scale. |
