One of the worst Summoner configurations. For a reason unknown the creator of this thing has decided to stick with ammo allocation profile of the primary configuration. Having two tons of missiles and one ton of ballistic ammo didn't serve Summoner prime too well and does even poorer job with A configuration. SRM-6 will have problems depleting all this so the 'Mech is hauling a ticking bomb with it most of the time. Gauzss rifle on the other hand packs only eight shots, which you need to use with care, because after that you are outgunned by meny-a-medium IS 'Mech, which is a damn shame. The configuration also poorly uses the massive heat sink capacity, Which means more points down. A decent dueling machine, but it's wasted opportunity really. |

I've never really used this variant. However looking at it, and the other comments about it... I would also have to say that the SRM is over ammo'ed, the Gauss is under, and the LPL is only a mediocre secondary system. I much prefer the Prime and M variants. |

Better than the Prime but desperately needs less SRM 6 ammo and more Guass ammo.
I particularly hate things like this. Its like they never want this mech version to be used.
Its a sniper that I always miss with my guass shots on. |

What is it with Summoners and having 3 weapons?
Again, I think that this one is undergunned.
The gauss rifle is a nice sniper weapon, capable of doing lots of damage, but it is woefully lacking ammo. By contrast, the SRM has about a ton too much ammo. Swapping 1 ton of SRM ammo for 1 ton of gauss ammo would fix this load out.
The Summoner A also carries more heat sinks than it really needs, eating up space and weight.
Frankly, I dont know how to deploy this variant, other than a hit-and-run unit. Attack your target at range, then fall back when the gauss ammo is gone. |

Every bit as good as the original, although it requires a somewhat different fighting style. Just make sure you get your tech to take out a ton of SRM ammo and load on an extra ton of Gauss rifle ammo; otherwise you'll run dry just as you are preparing to deliver the coup de grace. |
