Don´t forget that this is an old Star League Mech.
It’s fast, has good firepower and is acceptably armored.
The MASC gives it tremendous speed for short times (even if i personally don´t like MASC).
Most recon mechs of the Star League had no BAP and so it will do its job well. |

This 'Mech should be used to hit targets in enemy's rear. Blasting ammo storage and repair areas, attacking convoys...
It has heavy firepower and it's hard to catch. It doesn't have the armor to survive against 'Mechs, so it should pick it's fights carefully. Again there is the problem with leg armor = be careful around big guys. |

A decent scout mech but I prefer to keep my scout mechs low on weapons. This mech isn't really as useful as the 97 to me as it lacks the BAP. The extra firepower just gets your scout pilots in trouble usually.
The lack of armour hurts on light mechs but since if your smart they only duel with other 20 tonners its enough.
Average but nothing really to peak my interest. |

If traveling in a pair with a MCY-97 they can be a killer team. the 97 does the finding while the 99 does the killing. If infantry are in the theatre of operations, then trade the smalls for an MG and 1/2 ton ammo. |

If you pulled one of the small lasers, and packed on another half ton of ammo, this thing mught survive a small arms shootout. As is, its not going to do much. A lance of these in an ambush might pull down a mech, maybe two if theyre light enough, but then theyre going to have to clear datum before the badguys can get a good line on them. Masc is good, but I dont think its that good. |
