The HNT-151 has a great potential for upgrading but this here is more of a downgrade. The 5 jumpjets are the life insurance of the Hornet. By reducing them to 3 you get a very vulnerable target. And for what? An AMS and lots of almost senseless additional missiles. 2.5 tons that could have been used for much better things. The only real upgrade is the CASE. |

Nice example of bad 'Mech upgrade. Mobility decreased, armor decreased, ammo explosion danger increased, armament decrease, wasted tonnage increase, small increase in protection (negligible when compared to flaws gained)... The 'Mech is still usable, but I would prefer the 151 model.
Drop LRM ammo and AMS, add some armor and increase the movement to 6/9/6. That's an upgrade. |

Upgrade? Ha! No.
You actually lose jump jets for an anti missile system. A simpler upgrade might have been more effective and cheaper. (like losing the torch light of the original for case) |

Pretty poor for a refit; it carries more LRMs than it'll ever use. Personally I'd prefer to keep the old design. |

This refit tries to pull off what the shadow Hawk's do with 5-8-3. But with 35 less tons and no armour.
It's a bad acid trip inspired modification. Might appeal to some front line unit needing a unit to show of and polish for its commander though. |
