Slow, only short range weaponry, no jump jets and not that much ammo limit it's usefulness to a very narrow mission profile. Even in a Solaris arena an opponent with jump jets can mean death to this. |

As another AWS variant it looks strange. It's weapons are short range only and that may be a problem. Even in an arena fight the ranged weapons have their uses. Because some arenas can be pretty large and 3/5 movement profile is hardly sufficient to keep an enemy in the range of the ACs. Ammo is sufficient for a 3025 'Mech, but the mobility and ranged weapons (or the lack of them) are limiting the usefulness of the design. |

If this 'mech can get into position its got the firepower to seriously punish pretty much anything on the battlefield, but its so slow that getting into position is going to be a real challenge.
As a specialist arena 'mech this has some potential, but I'd like to see some jump jets for dealing with broken terrain. I'd scrap two of the heatsinks and maybe a laser or a ton of ammo for that purpose. For a battlefield 'mech I'd never reduce the ammo here, but arena fights are usually brief in any case, and 15 AC/20 bursts should be enough to kill pretty much anything. |

Ok, makes a nice custom Awesome. The Solaris fluff is fitting as this bares almost no similarities with a usual Awesome. Weapons, and Armour are changed to make it more Solaris-like.
A definate option for the Factory arena. |

A fair mod. But the Awesome doesn't have a right hand and its rear armor is huge. Even the model name is odd at best. This mod is missing this three relatively minor things so i will rate it half a point lower.
The mech itself is impressive since it has heatsinks to fire the 2 ACs without heat build up. Ammo is alittle tight but after 10 rounds of combat, most enemies will have hit the ground so its fine. If there is something still standing, even the paltry med lasers will kill him.
Other applications will involve sitting inside a city. Standard Hunchy and King Crabbie tactics will then apply for this monster as well. Open battlefield wise, use this as your body guard for those Archers. Let the prey come. |
