This is not a Firestarter. Great dueling Mech, OK lance Mech. Armor and mobility, not as much heat issue, but it is not a Firestarter. If this was some other chassis then it would have a 3.5 rating.
GM- It is not a Firestarter so I refuse to use it. |

Okay, it's better armored and stuff, but without flamers it isn't Firestarter. It's just something like two Stingers in one package. That doesn't make me too excited unless I want to make more room in my Drop ship. Personally I would drop the SLs and HS for MGs or ... flamers. |

This is the "Mirage" variant and I actually like it. It doesn't have excessive firepower, which most people want, and it still is best for anti-infantry fighting. The increased armor allows it to fight longer and keep the enemy distracted from heavier lancemates. It cannot be ignored totally since it has good mobility and enough firepower to penetrate most mechs rear armor and cause significant damage. Upgrading to level 2 tech would make it considerably more of a force to be reckoned with. |

A mech for recon, strike and infantry-busting. Good armor and mobility, acceptable firepower but not a Firestarter any more! |

This is most useful as a counter for the spider, particularly useful if your the FEDCOM and facing Kuritan forces. Otherwise this specialised use makes it a bit worthless. It has good mobility but it has to play the role of a light mech hunter, being to slow for scout and to light and short range for support or front line.
Good vehicle ambusher if you can spare it. |
