This mech is a line holder. House Liao found a perfect tool for defense of it's territory in this mech, because it can take easily defensible position and stay there while absorbing a lot of damage and hitting hard. With some support from conventional units (probably a true mainstay of Liao army during succession wars) t may deal even with heavier units. It's a workhorse design, but don't overestimate it's abilities, it can't fight effectively against mechs like Marauders without some help. |

One of the best balanced Mediums.
A heavy main weapon with a long range, support weapons for all ranges, only one ammo dependant weapon, strong armor, relatively cool running and with the ability to jump and fire indirectly! |

The reason why House Liao lives until today. Its slow and alittle uninspired but it is very effective design.
The firepower nicely covers the range envelope and the mech actually has no heat problems thanks to its fire brackets.
A true Jack of all trades, the Vindy will continue to serve House Liao well, along side with the Urbies and Pos as well. ;)

Solid, dependable medium.
I agree with all those that say that this mech is all that keeps Hous Liao from folding over.
Its firepower is good for a mech its size though it had to sacrifice speed to do so. But that isn't a major problem as most times, the Cap troops ain't going anywhere.
A nice mod to try would be to replace the LRM-5 with a SRM-4 for more close range firepower. |

One of those mechs that make you realise how Liao survives even without having a lot of units.
A Vindicator means your going to trade at least 1-1 to take the position and sometimes thats a choice that commanders will back down from. Because in 3025 especially mechs are very expensive.
I've always had a soft spot for this thing because I think its a serious design to field.
Just remember that it suffers the same problem the Panther does in that it frequently will draw spots in a heavy company which will get it minced. So keep it with the mediums if you can and you'll rock. |
