Well, the mech received major upgrade in most fields that were criticized before, but it's still far from perfect. The weapons have ammo load that would look better on clan mech. Just fire the PPC, laser and LRMs and as you close, you may exchange the missiles for RAC. Without fluff and bad time era it's just slightly below average. |

This actually looks decent at first glance, then you notice the ammo..
And that big honking sword taking up valuable weight and space.
Also i absolutely loathe it when a designed doesn't even bother to write the slightest bit of fluff to tell us more about the design, so i know nothing about it beyond a bunch of numbers. Bah!
When battling against one of these, you have two options, stay out of range or keep moving and let it waste its ammo. Once its ammo is gone, it doesn't have anymore weapons than a medium mech.
Nice armour though..
Oh and the time period is off..

Well it steps up the food chain in its second incarnation. With an impressive list of weapons to choose from to cover your approach.
However, the lack of ammo will end your day early just as easily as the larger supply in the first one was crippling to the secondary weapon suites.
Losing the Hatchet was good, gaining a Sword was bad. So meh its still useless space.
Too many heat sinks considering how few of those weapons last more than a few limited rounds. |

Not very good for an assault mech, and not THAT much better as an upgrade.
Your weapons are not exactly in the right era (RAC). And ammo problems. Like alot of other designs, this mechs runs short on ammo. The sword is not a good choice and the PPC could be replaced with a laser of some sort. In all, the mech is a watse of effort, excuse the insult.
My point is, this is somewhat the kind of weapons lineup you would find on a heavyweight mech. |

This seems to be trying to fix the problems of its predecessor. Looks like an overcompensation; too much one way, and now too much the other way. It's now much better at range, but almost helpless closer, since both PPC and LRM 20 have minimum ranges. The sword is lighter but does less damage than the hatchet, but neither of those matters because of the engine. While the standard engine is good from a survivability standpoint, it means that this is too slow to bring the sword into play, making the sword so much useless tonnage. The RAC has gone from too much ammo to too little; a heavy or assault 'Mech should have at least three tons for a single RAC. The LRM is also short on ammo.
Again, put some thought into your era. This is a 3050 'Mech, says so right beneath your name. But the RAC is a 3062 weapon. |
