This version still has impressiv short range firepower plus the ability to reach out at 15 hexes.
But it lost its "fear-factor" (like any „Swayback“) of dealing 20 points in one blow. |

It may not be the scariest HBK around, but it still works. A barrage of three med lasers and AC/10 can chase many mechs away. Good armor and weapons mix would be the strongest sides of this design, but It's still slow and may be shot to pieces before it may reach it's target, so it would use some lance mates with LRMs or PPCs (or both, preferably). A good mech to place somewhere near to your ammo depot or to a slightly uneven terrain and wait for the first fool to come in range. |

I look at this as the Hunchback pilot's answer to the Centurion. It looses the one shot-one kill factor, but this remains a fine line 'mech and it still packs quite a punch. |

Higher damage potential but less scary factor.
Its a servicable idea but not a great one. I like it more than the original because the AC 10 makes it a design that can keep some designs honest for awhile. |

I give this mech a substandard rating. When compared to the HBK-4G this mech just isnt as deadly. However it is still a dangerous close in-fighter, and the AC/10 extends it's ranged damage potential. Still, nothing beats seeing an AC/20 belch smoke and flame as it pours shells into an enemy, even if it is just an image in my head. |
