Ups... Lots of small weapons on a Barghest-chassis. I think the rear-leg mounted pulse lasers are meant to be firing into the rear but still as a quad it has blind spots in it's sides. Blind spots that Elementals WILL use! Nevertheless the jump jets will aid in not getting cornered. But besides focussing on fighting Battlearmor it just lacks the punch of a heavy weapon. |

This is somewhat heavy to be a purely anti-BA mech, but it seems to be able to do it's work well. On a quad chassis I would expect some rear facing weapons, especially on a 'Mech that is designed to go near to the BAs and may expect to be ambushed pretty often. It doesn't have the speed or ranged firepower to deal with most of the heavier 'Mech types, but if deployed in rough terrain it may be quite destructive. I would drop the LRMs, upgrade large laser to a ER PPC and install one medium laser to guard rear (or turn some lasers backward and add a C3 slave unit). |

This isn't the real Barghast i know but nevertheless the fluff explains it rather well.
As of now, its a brutal anti BA mech. |

The design is pretty good, but it strays too far from the original Barghest. The Barghest was originally designed to carry large-bore auto-cannons, but this design does good at what the fluff says it's supposed to do. That said, I think it could do a little better. Pulses and Streaks are always good against Elementals and Protos. It's just lacking in the long-range area. |

At first glance this is very messed up but actually forms a unique fighting machine, rather than depending on the larger weapons systems this concentrates on the smaller ones, this makes it an ecceptional Vehicle, infantry and elemental destroyer but it also comes into play in close environments where it can quickly strip down light and medium mechs and even give heavies a shock.
Good effort. Heat is a bit poor though. |
