Overview:
The Guardian was developed by the Star League as a riot-control vehicle. However, few
examples of the Guardian survived the Succession Wars. The House Lords, desperate for any
'mech they could press into service, assigned the Guardian to line regiments. Hampered by
its low speed and light armor, the Guardian suffered higher casualty rates in open-field
warfare than any other 'mech design, although it proved its worth as an urban fighter.

A fair city fighter, this is useful for sweeping of infantry common in garrison defence.
Of course its going to get throttle to death outside a city but its still a riot control vehicle so keep it withnin the city walls.

Sufficient for intended role, Flamer can be good addition (You will be more willing to listen, when those twelve meters of steel exhale gout of flame your way :) ). Infernos can help decimate conventional forces common in city warfare.

For a city fighter its good, I've even seen a competant pilot take it almost to a win against a stock 3025 Panther in a city.
Its a good mech, I like it. But 20 tonners in a city fight won't last long either way. So you have to pick and choose your battles.

I give the design a high rating because its fluff aply describes the flaws and why they are there. But its name is not right. Something other than guardian would do as such a word tells one that it should be guarding rather than preventing riots. Slow, weak armour, and a lack of flamers really don't do this mech justice as a riot control mech. HOWEVER, as stated, the fluff already says why this is so.

The name Guardian seems to imply guarding something. And as a urban defense mech, this could be ideal. Low cost, simple. Armour's light, but for its weight its the best available.
