This is built for only one use: pound your opponent to scrap at short range. Cover your steady advance (if you have to) with LRM and laserfire and let loose the AC´s when you´re there. Put a veteran or elite pilot in that to make sure that you don´t waste your shots. The ammo bins are very small. |

A king for five turns, after that it can only hope to finish the foe with it's laser and physical attacks (the LRM ammo is probably gone long before it gets to emptying the AC ammo bins). The 'Mech really lacks ammo for engagement of any length, so unless it manages to close and smash the enemy quickly (no one guarantees that the AC will hit) it will be slowly crushed by long range fire. Just like with Atlas, the trick is in getting it to range. Ambushes and city fights are the best uses for this machine and it works well as a deterrent too, just make yourself sure that the 'Mech is positioned in a place that prevents the enemy from engaging the King Crab with long range guns. One more thing. Don't let yourself be fooled by the ACs position, part of them is still in torso, so the 'Mech is vulnerable to flanking. |

Stay inside a city with a huge ammo dump there. No sane guy will ever want to go in there unless his an assualt mech or is forced to kamikaze by the top brass.
The ammo is a tad light and i would personally downgrade the LRM-15 for a LRM-10 for 1 more ton of ammo for the AC and LRM. |

Superb city fighter but you need to drop a ton of armour from somewhere and increase that ac20 ammo otherwise you are infanry fodder. Either that or take a couple of light to medium close support mechs. Will even make mincemeat of an Atlas in a cityfight. Get one while you can. |

Knowing one of these mechs is in a city is whats known as area denial.
No sane mechwarrior will want to go into a city knowing a King Crab is waiting for him.
They're targets at range so cover them with a support lance or better yet make it the 4th mech in a lance of Archers or something.
Getting this mech more ammo is the focus of your life though. Its hard to win a fight with only 5 shots each with your big guns. |
