A Highlander close to its "roots"! The gauss rifle and LRM Artemis combination gives good punch at long ranges especially if used in a C3i network. The backup weapons are plain standard and deliver support for the main weapon up close. Full armor, CASE and its standard engine make it hard to take down too.

If im off wandering alone, i will drop the C3I for more armor and another laser or 2.
Although lightly armed, its weapon loadout is surprisely effective and the thrill of a 90 ton brick crashing on someone is fun. |

Okay, first of all I'll admit my bias. I'm attracted to the Highland plus Guass Combo.
I've had too much sucess with Highlander Burials and Guassing out cockpits to ever discount the 732 or this one.
Its a good mech at range when you remember to use the C3i to its full potential. Otherwise its kind of lightly armed for a proper assault on assault fight.
Almost needs more medium lasers more than an SSRM rack, since its in close damage isn't impressive, and its not carrying all that much ammo.

Not quite an Ammo Addict, but it doesnt miss by much. The damage potential of the gauss rifle and the LRMs is something that other assault mechs would hesitate at.
The lasers and SRMs have an identical range envelope, and work well together.
Im not sure that the C3i system is a help or a hindrance. Granted it lets the mech provide or call fire support, but it also eats up 2.5 tons and 2 critical slots.
Still, this mech has quite a bit of potential, provided it doesnt stray too far from ammo supplies. |

In spite of the C3i, this is a really nice 'Mech. If it were up to me, I'd drop the C3i to upgrade the Streak to a 6 and pick up a third medium laser.
Still, this has nice long range weapons, with an impressive short range punch to boot. The Artemis is a nice addition for the LRMs, and there's a good amount of ammo for them and the gauss. The C3i will make this a good long range sniper; send someone in close, then stand off and hammer them with the gauss and LRMs. Watch your ammo though; this thing is in big trouble once it runs out of ammo. |
