The light engine enables this Stalker to carry a real big gun while still mounting two ER-PPC as heavy, ammoless longrange weapons. The medium lasers are a nice addition to its firepower closer up. A problem will be to bring faster opponents into the gauss' range where it will do the most damage. |

A definite beating stick.
The speed is okay, for its weight. I would have like it if they could have wiggled in a bit of a beefier engine, but at least the thing can move.
I also prefer the armor on my assault mechs to be a shade thicker, but this thing looks like it was designed for a short, bloody fight. One where you dont give your target a chance to penetrate your armor.
The weapons are just plain mean. Two ER PPCs backed by a damn big gauss rifle. Thats just beyond insult to injury. The mech does run into a bit of a quandry as it closes range, though. As more and more weapons are brought to bear, the pilot is going to want to use more and more to cause massive ammounts of damage. Granted, this beast cant explode from overheating ammo, but it CAN shut down. The weapons array is almost a double-edged sword, in this instance. Some fire discipline will mitigate some of the heat concerns, but the pilot still has to be very careful. That having been said, if the chance for an alpha strike that just cant miss should pop up, take it. It will be the last thing your target will ever see in this life..... |

This mech still mounts too little armor. In fact the much vaunted close ranged punch of the HGauss is actually not good here, since the Stalker armor is weak.
An LB-20X or Ultra AC 20 can get the same effect with lower tonnage which means more armor and ammo, although it does mean that the mech design is so much more boring.
But, hey i still gotta give it props for novelity. |

This thing is going to cause some serious damage, the heavy gauss may not be highly rated. But its damage potential at close ranges cannot be ignored. The PPC's will snipe away any distant targets while the medium lasers will mop up the armour. The Heavy gauss can really put in the finishing blow, taking away an arm and torso in one go. |
