Rating this mech wasn't easy. It's not that common and the fluff states that it's a city fighter. With this armor and weapons allocation I can't say that this is a 'Mech of my dreams for that role. Arms are useful only as damage sinks, because the lack of actuators limits their use in combat or in work. Lasers, while effective, have limited firing arc and they are vulnerable to inferno SRMs (making the 'Mech lose half of it's firepower hurts). SRM launcher can be a good weapon for close ranges and against vehicles, but I would rather exchange it for armor and maybe some heat sinks. It's a fast 'Mech with good firepower and heat dissipation, but the pilot must be careful, because overheating and lighter armor will punish him for any mistake. The lack of JJs further limits it's usefulness in restricting terrain. Not bad, but for ill-suited for city fighting IMO.

An average mech for its weight.
Good speed and firepower combined with under-average armor and really poor heat-dissipating capabilities.
The range of the Large Lasers works good here because it has the speed to close. But keep moving to hold the mods up high (as you can get!).

I've never liked the Ostroc and i'm not about to start now.
Heat curves all wierd, armours not anything to write home about.
Yes it has decent firepower, but how it can use it is a different question entirely

Keep this mech moving and start dishiing out the knife fight damage. The heat curve is kinda wonky though so watch it carefully when you decide to fire something. A very nice city defender as it has the close in fighter power to hurt someone.

Good armor, with just enough HS that you can close with the enemy before you have to cycle off a LL, then you can bring med range weps on and rock someone's world. I would move 1 point of CT back armor to the H and leave the arms as damage soaks, even though they are good for punching in heads :D
