A -3C and a -3M Cicada merged with a lot of jump-jets thrown at it too. This is how an XL should be used. This tranformed from a running scapegoat to a real war-machine. |

The Cicada that doesn't suck. And i agree with mud, this is the way to use XL engines.
Run fast and keep sniping, this bad boy can keep even clan mechs on their toes. Just remember not to slow down. |

Here's how a designer uses an XL engine to good effect. This takes the already excellent CDA-3C design and adds increased ground speed, jump jets, and armor. Overall this is one of the best mobile fire support units in the game. |

Superior to most scout mechs and mounting an ER PPC. Its quite powerful as its got the armour to trade shots.
I'd keep the distance up and pick apart mechs with the ER PPC though. |

Since I started playing with 3025-tech, the Cicada has always lacked something. Sure its fast, but the armor always sucked and the weapons were a running gag. This model seems to have fixed both. Using FF armor is a good step in the right direction, and the ER PPC finally gives this mech a serious bite at distance. The medium lasers I think are more there becasue of the low heat output than anything else. This mech needs to be kept cool, though. Sure there are DHS on this one, but an alpha strike or two, and the pilot is going to have to start spitting on the reactor to cool it off. |
