Improved firepower over the -1N is fine but now heat comes into play. Shooting both your longrange weapons all the time isn“t possible anymore. A mix of -1N and -1G in a lance will be a good idea. |

A powerful tool in the hands of the Combine. With 10 points of damage concentrated to single blow it became much more dangerous. I don't know if the installation of the third medium laser was a good idea, but otherwise I fail to see any serious problems here, so what rating shall I give to a 'Mech that can withstand quite a few hits, do some serious damage without producing too much heat and do it all on the move. Thanks to the combination of armament, armor and speed the Grand Dragon can fill many roles. Fire support, light lance leader, scout/vehicle hunting, general combat... A good thing to have at hand for any Kuritan unit. |

Gotta love the speed on this machine. At 5/8 for its size, its more mobile than most mediums of its era.
The weapon loadout is quite similar to a Centy cept u drop the AC-10 for a PPC and it has being proven to be effective.
So its a good mech for the Dragons. Heat can be a problem, but stagger fire can handle that. |

Without the JJ's, this is pretty much like a Griffin with more close in firepower. 12 heatsinks force you to stagger your fire rate a bit, but it's certainly very managable to fire the PPC and LRM10 for two-three turns before cooling down by only holding the PPC back. Very capable heavy, it's pretty easy to see how this thing would cause all kinds of trouble for Davion Mediums and Heavies. |

I agree with blackhand. dump the rear laser for another heat sink.
However, i still find the Grand Dragon a tad better than the Dragon. Everything good about it with more firepower. Only the heat worries me... a little. |
